Somali Natural Resources Research Center

The Somali Natural Resources Research Center (SONRREC) is a non-profit and independent research organization that was established in 2016 with the objective to manage, protect and shape the country’s natural resources in a sustainable manner by improving the economic well-being and eradicating poverty through evidence-based scientific research, capacity development and consultancy. The center was founded by multi-disciplinary scientists with the purpose of finding scientific-based solutions to development issues by actively participating in and supporting country development objectives and strategies as well as regional and global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Vision

To be a global center of excellence for Somalia’s natural resources and associated science-based solutions on natural resources to a prosperous nation.

Mission

To conduct research, capacity development, and consultancy services on development and sustainable natural resources for socio-economic development.
