Capacity Development

Since 2016 SONRREC has been registered as a Non-Profit Research Center giving us the legal authority to operate as a research, capacity development and consultant services provider in Somalia. We run a variety of courses in natural resources in the field of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Marine Resources, Water Resources, Energy, Environment and Resilience and we are extending the variety of courses we offer.

Our courses are accredited by the Ministry of Education. If there is a specific training need which your organization has in the area of natural resources sectors including poverty reduction, food security, natural resources conservation and sustainability then why not give us a call and see if we can help in providing it.

Our current and planned capacity development projects include:

SONRREC Conducted a training workshop on International Water Law and Treaties to the Somali students in Africa, Asia and Europe who are persuading their master degree in Water science. June 2020 SONRREC is being conducting Training Workshop on Water Security for Shabelle River Basin in Somalia
