Regional Consultation Meeting on the National Disaster Management Policy

SONRREC has attended and contributed on National Consultation & Dissemination Workshop on the Somali National Disaster Management Policy organized by Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Federal Government of Somalia July 2017.
The consultation was on regional meeting with the participation from all the Regional State Members, key experts from UN, NGOs and private sectors.
The consultation was essential for developing a common agreed direction on disaster management towards deeper understanding of associated hazards and disaster risks management. The process provided a platform for different stakeholders to discuss and debate on issues on national framework for managing disasters affecting the Somali people.
